Chlorine (Also referred to as "shock") sanitizes your pool's water. Your Free Available Chlorine is the Chlorine that's capable of destroying contaminants and should be kept between 1-3 PPM

Calcium hardness measures how much calcium is in your pool water. When it’s balanced, it helps protect your pool surfaces and equipment. If calcium is too low, water can become corrosive and damage plaster or metal parts. If it’s too high, you can get cloudy water and scale buildup. Keeping calcium hardness in the right range helps your pool stay smooth, clear, and problem-free.

Pentair's IntelliChlor uses common table salt to effectively and automatically produce chlorine a pool needs. It provides the same sanitation performance as chlorine additives without the drawbacks of chlorine handling. There's now an alternative to buying, handling and storing chlorine.

The Weekly/Bi-Weekly Routine

SoftSwim A (Algaecide):

Role: The "shield" against green water.

Usage: Typically added once every two weeks, or immediately after you spot algae.

SoftSwim B (Sanitizer):

Role: The actual germ-killer (the biguanide). This replaces chlorine.

Usage: You need to test your water regularly. You only add this when your biguanide levels drop below the recommended range (usually 30–50 ppm). Do not overdose this.

SoftSwim C (Shock):

Role: The oxidizer (usually high-powered Hydrogen Peroxide). It "burns up" organic trash (sweat, oils, rain).

Usage: Typically used once a month (or every two weeks in very hot weather/heavy usage).

Note: Pour this slowly into the skimmer or around the pool edge with the pump running.

The Filter Team

SoftSwim Filter Cleaner: Biguanide is essentially a "sticky" polymer. It traps dirt well, but it gums up filters faster than chlorine. You generally need to chemically clean your filter every 4 to 6 weeks with this specific cleaner. Standard filter cleaners often won't dissolve biguanide gunk.

SoftSwim Filter Aid: Use this only if the water looks hazy or cloudy to help the filter catch tiny particles.
